Unity recognizes the many expressions of family life. All are welcome. We create an affirming environment that fosters positive self-image, personal responsibility, and unconditional love and acceptance.
Vision Statement: We are a magnetic Youth and Family Ministry program, grounded in Truth Principles that are connected to everyday life. Our ministry is fueled by Spirit that inspires a community participation explosion which deepens the spiritual experience for all.
Youth Spiritual Education Hour
Infants through age 14
9:30-10:30 am on Sundays
We invite adults who attend this hour to bring their children to the Unity Classroom downstairs and sign them in before going to their own classes. The children will remain together until either their parents pick them up before the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service or the YFM staff escorts them upstairs to the service. Children and youth meet for activities such as a Sacred Circle, Storytelling, Discussion, Creative Experience, and Sharing.
Embedded in these activities are lessons on spiritual topics based on the Five Basic Principles of Unity. Then, they share a snack before closing. The children will remain together until either their parents pick them up before the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service, or the YFM staff escorts them upstairs to the service.
Children’s Spiritual Enrichment Experience (C-SEE)
Infants through age 10
10:30 -11:30 am on Sundays (during the service)
Children and adults begin the Sunday service together in the Chapel. (Adults with children who do not attend the 9:30 a.m. Spiritual Education Hour are asked to complete a YFM registration form, found in the Visitors’ Packets.) Early in the service, children are invited to come up front for an interactive Children’s Moment, led by a member of our Unity family. Afterward, we sing a song and children age 10 and under are escorted downstairs to the Unity Classroom for more activities related to the 9:30 morning lesson. Children will rejoin the adults for the Peace Circle at the end of the service upstairs.
