Ministerial Candidate: Rev. Ruth Miller

Ruth L. Miller integrates new understandings of culture and consciousness in a way that “the rest of us” can understand.

Working as a futurist and organizational and community development consultant, she taught in several colleges and universities around the Pacific Northwest, based on her degrees in anthropology, environmental studies, cybernetics, and systems science.

Now in her second career, the Rev. Dr. Miller serves as an ordained New Thought minister in Unitarian, Science of Mind, and Unity churches around Oregon.

Dr. Miller has written over two dozen books on the history and power of applied metaphysics, and dozens of reports on future impacts of present actions. She also manages several websites and a YouTube channel to provide broader access to her books, interviews, classes, and lectures, and she is the host of a regular radio program called Noetic Moments, on the science of consciousness.

Where can I park?

We have a large parking lot along W Gordon Pike. The entryway is on the left at the top of the steps, and service is held upstairs.

Visitors and members with movement difficulties may park or be dropped off at the entrance along S Rogers St.

What’s the culture at Unity of Bloomington?

Sundays at Unity of Bloomington offer a welcoming and laid-back atmosphere where you can truly be yourself. Whether you prefer dressing up or keeping it casual, feel free to come as you are. Our CommUnity celebrates cultural and individual differences, making ‘unity through diversity’ one of our core values. Sundays are always an exciting and inclusive experience!

How long is the service at Unity of Bloomington?

Approximately one hour in length. The vibrant gathering kicks off with a soul-stirring piano prelude by our talented music director, setting the tone for a meaningful experience ahead.
The Unity of Bloomington Music Team leads the congregation in uplifting songs. Lyrics are thoughtfully projected to the front, ensuring everyone can easily join in and feel connected through music.

Every Sunday features a Music Inspiration segment from our talented Music Team, with a solo or choir performance. This special moment paves the way for the heart of the service – the insightful message of the week, provided by guest speakers or CommUnity members.
The message seamlessly transitions into a calming guided meditation accompanied by serene music, providing a peaceful interlude for reflection and inner stillness.

To conclude our gathering, we come together once more in song, raising our voices in unison to affirm our shared desire for harmony and unity with the touching tune 'Let There Be Peace on Earth.'

At Unity of Bloomington — music, reflection, and connection intertwine to create an inspirational and uplifting spiritual experience.

What about my kids?

Children of all ages are welcome at Unity of Bloomington!

We are excited to share that we are in the process of revitalizing our Youth Ministries program to better serve our young ones. During our Sunday Services, childcare is available for those who would like to participate. For families who prefer to have their children join them in the service, we offer activity packets to help keep the little ones entertained. Unity of Bloomington is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, including our youngest members.

What happens after the service?

Post-service is a time centered on relaxation and connection. After the service, congregants gather to greet and chat with one another over coffee, tea, and treats graciously provided by our CommUnity. You are invited to partake in these refreshments and engage in friendly conversations with fellow attendees.

From time to time, we host workshops or group meetings following the service, typically starting at noon. These activities offer valuable learning experiences and a chance to delve deeper into various topics. You are encouraged to join these sessions as they present excellent opportunities for growth and community engagement. Feel free to explore these unique offerings and enrich your Sunday with us at Unity of Bloomington!
